API, API & more API
For automating notification sending and live tile updates, we supply a rich API interface, both in form of Web service or HTTP.
Learn about our API
We have setup our prices in such a way that both single developers and large companies can gain advantages of using our service rather than building it themselves.
What is PushBug?
PushBug is a Mobile Notification Service, which developers of applications for the Windows Phone OS, can use to administrate and send out
Tile and Toast notifications. PushBug help developers to cut out the hassle of having to build their own notification service, and instead focus
100% on their applications and the content of those.
Using our API customers can easily send notifications to all registered phones for their account or application(s). When a push notification is sent
through our service, we will handle all communication to and from Microsoft, which ensures that if a phone is out of reach at the moment, we will try to resend
it for you again four times. Using the same communication/feedback allows us to mange your devices, so that if a user uninstalls your application we will detect this and at the beginning
flag it in-active and 24 hours later remove it from your inventory.
In short terms, we allow you to focus on your application(s) by taking over the responsibility and trouble of formatting and sending push notifications and correctly use the response from Microsoft.
Using the PushBug service versus building it yourself?
While Microsoft is great about offering coding examples, test project and even WCF and Azure guidance, it still takes both knowledge and time to build
your own push notification service, which can communicate with Microsoft in a reliable way, and at the same time handle the responses for each individual notification sent,
also taking into account the difficulties it is to not only send out a single notification but maybe sending out to 200+ devices at a time.
By using our service, for sending out push notifications for Windows Phone devices, you can eliminate the time it takes to not only build and setup a notification
backend but also the future support and development for handling any changes made by Microsoft. Another big point to consider when choosing between building or buying
would be the hardware cost. No matter if you host yourself or use cloud services such as Azure, there is a cost involved.
When using PushBug Push Notification Service you will not have to:
- Spend time learing about Microsoft Push Notifications.
- Build a notification service from scratch.
- Setup and Maintain the hardware required to run such a service.
- Administrate devices associated with different applications.
- Creating routines to send out large amount of notifications with autmatic retries.
- Keeping up with responses from Microsoft when sending notifications.
If your also convinced that you would rather spend time building great apps than worry about how notifications work, then register today and choose a subscription
which fits your needs.
